Really 2,5, but the staff was very nice, so earned them an up star. I had the cupcake of the day: pumpkin. Hubby had hot fudge cream puff. Now, my cupcake was moist and very good. Unfortunately, the frosting tasted like lard. Very oily. I removed it. The hot fudge cream puff was neither hot, nor fudge. The topping was actually milk chocolate, and it was just above room temperature,- not hot. The cream puff was just OK. Cute place, but doubt I'll be back. Very nice girls working there, though. Hate to say it, but hubby said we should have gone across the street to Big Boys for their Hot Fudge Cake.

I've been here many many times with my kids and there's nothing like the old school feel of a great ice cream and cupcake topped off with whipped cream cherries and sprinkles they always have the old school style chilled stainless steel dixie cups that they give you full of the best water you'll ever have and the atmosphere that sends you right back to the Fifty's. The spumoni ice cream is like no other the chocolates are amazing and the kids circus sunday is a must try for any little one you have. Also the chocolate malts are made just the way they should be... awesome.

Went here last weekend, and the cupcakes were awesome! I got the Cherry Chip as well as the Banana Split. My total was $5 but it's worth it. Customer service here is kind of poor though, no one greeted me when I walked in or checked to see if I wanted anything. Due to no one speaking to me once I entered the store I wanted to leave but I was craving a cupcake. lol. Once I noticed where the cupcakes were located, I asked for the two I wanted and was rung up. Not very friendly...but the cupcakes are good!

My husbands company has cupcakes brought in from here. He loved them so much that he took us there. I have to say I see why they do so well. There cupcakes are absolutely delicious! I love the chocolate peanut butter and the banana cupcake with peanut butter. There lemon cupcake with lemon on top is also amazing. I don't think they have a bad cupcake. Coffee is great there as is the ice cream. Thank God I don't live closer!

I have been to Chocolate Bar Cafe for custom cakes 3 times now. The first time that made a custom cake for a gender reveal that was absolutely perfect, and delicious. The second time I went in for a last minute cake when my son proposed to his fiance on a Saturday night. We have family dinners every Sunday, and I wanted a heart cake that day, to celebrate as a surprise. They didn't have what I wanted, and proceeded to bake exactly what I want that same day! Customer service like that is almost extinct. Today I went in for another custom cake, and the service from Suzy was perfect. I have nothing but a 5 star review for Chocolate Bar Cafe. Thanks to all of you.

Very diverse and cute cafe. With juke box and cute tables, they have icecream, sundays, icee, cupcakes, chocolate, cakes, custom cakes (they are fun and amazing- saw one for a 7year old with purse, lipstick, fun icing, was a great cake!) Lots of kids in and out with their parents. I had a great time here.

Chocolate Bar Cafe is our local ice cream shop and they also happen to make fantastic cakes at a really reasonable price. I went around to a few other bakeries and no one compared to Chocolate Bar and Lisa's. Even the places that want to charge you $4/slice! Her cakes are so moist and the frosting is so creamy. Most slices are $1.95 each, so our cake for 180 people was $450. Which was so reasonable. Our flavors were chocolate with fudge filling, banana nut with buttercream and red velvet with cream cheese. I gave her the inspiration pic and when I saw her version in real life, I couldn't have been happier. My only regret is that I felt that I didn't have enough time to eat it! I wanted one slice of each flavor!!!

We made the trip to the Chocolate Bar Cafe after learning they served Alinosi's ice cream. While I have enjoyed Alinosi's delicious spumoni in this past, I was unaware that they made such a variety of ice cream flavors. The Chocolate Bar Cafe is the perfect place to enjoy a cone. It's a quaint, relaxing cafe with excellent service. Other delectable treats include their cupcakes and Alinosi chocolates. There is ample parking in the area. The perfect place for a summer treat.

I have tried the Uper Mud and the Pistachio - both great. The number one reason I keep coming back is there CUPCAKES! They have the best bumpy cake cupcakes I have ever had. They are incredibly moist with a creamy filling and perfect ganache. Ordered a dozen for a party and everybody raved about the cupcakes. Also if they have a banana cupcake with peanut butter cream dipped in chocolate ganache when you go order it you will be forever hooked. Peanut butter cookie with chunks of peanut butter cup is also a favorite of mine. They have so many choices and everything I have tried I have ordered again! Staff is so helpful and friendly (and patient) - so next time you are craving something sweet this is the place to go. They are open until 10 pm most night which is great for a late night snack. Even if you need to bring a dessert to a friends they always have a bunch of options ready. Also when I was telling a friend about this place it turns out her wedding cake was from here and the cake was super moist and delicious - one of the best I've had.

This place has the best cupcakes in the area! Our company had brought them in several times, and everyone always raves over them. CBC is also the only place I know serving Alinosi's Ice Cream. The spumoni is out of this world! Whilst it's about a half hour from our house, it's worth the drive.

I never would have visited if it weren't for Groupon! Great selection of goodies! The staff is patient with customers trying to choose what to purchase. The decor is wonderful and the selection of ice cream, sundaes, cakes, and other unique stuff. A must-visit if you're on the east side.

Ok, so everything we have tried here is fantastic. Especially the Bisque Tortoni ice cream and homemade Chocolate pudding. The only problem was the price. For example, $12 for chocolate pudding. The pudding is great, but not that good.

Bought a few boxes of cupcakes for a party. Everyone said they lacked flavor and were very bland. A bit overpriced. You are obviously paying for the decor on them not the flavor. Customer service wasn't very good either. Honestly if the customer service was better when I went there and the gal smiled just a little and didn't have such an angry scowl on her face I probably wouldn't haven't written this review of how bland the cupcakes were because I would have felt bad.

Have had a couple custom cakes for family parties and they have always been great. This latest occasion is why I am writing a review. Our soon to be 4yr old was excited about his birthday cake and grabbed it out of the car flipping it upside down. I came in search of Alinosi's ice cream and their chocolate. It's all here. I have not tried cakes, or the cupcakes, but my son had the bumpy cake sundae and it was gone in seconds. This is the ultimate sit down for sundae experience. Mack is conveniently accessed from I-94 and 8 Mile Road. It took us a half-hour to get here and I am definitely coming back. On my list of top three ice cream destinations. Also love Guernsey in Novi and Calder Dairy downriver. The Alinosi's store on six mile road is long gone.....the turtle sundae here is a classic.
